THE PASTORAL COUNCIL
The role of the Pastoral Council is namely, to investigate and study pastoral issues and situations, reflect on them and provide recommendations to the Pastor. This threefold process is called “pastoral planning.” To plan in an effective way, Pastors must be able to ask the questions relevant to their role as parish leaders, and councilors must have the freedom to do their work thoroughly. The Pastor consults because he wants to make prudent decisions. Similarly, councilors help plan because they want the parish to make wise choices that reflect the values of the gospel. Through this collaborative effort, the needs and concerns of the parish are addressed. The Pastoral Council welcomes ideas, opinions and comments about the church and parish, thereby helping our parishioners get their views and concerns addressed. In addition to exploring new ideas and other pastoral issues, the Pastoral Council also provides help and assistance in the planning and organizing of different church and parish functions or other celebrations.
Please contact any Pastoral Council member if you have any ideas, thoughts or concerns about the church and parish as we welcome your feedback with open arms.
